This car has ample torque to guarantee a pleasant drive, be it on a city or on a dirt road.
Purchased in 1976 in a TOYOTA dealership, this FJ40 was used by a family as both a town car and to carry out various tasks around their farm, such as transport feed and materials. Back then, these vehicles were symbols of prestige and status because of their cost, but also because of their great quality.
This car was kept within the same family as one of the sons decided to care for it. He actually only drove the car some 15,000 miles from 2000 until June 2013, when we purchased it and initiated a complete frame-off restoration.
Its factory original Yellow #532 color is very difficult to find and also very sought-after, as it highlights the FJ40’s already distinctive and timeless lines. This great color combination makes it an interesting investment, given that the value of restored TOYOTA FJ’s has risen in recent years.
Although more than 37 years passed since this TOYOTA was driven off the dealer lot by its first owner, the car was in excellent condition prior to restoration. Despite this, the engine, transmission, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical, and exhaust components were rebuilt using original Toyota parts. Its previous owner upgraded his FJ40 to front disc brakes, an upgrade we kept for better drivability.
The original TOYOTA 2F 4.2-liter engine is matched to its original 3-speed gearbox. This car has ample torque to guarantee a pleasant drive, be it on a city or on a dirt road.
