Live Loud in Freeborn Red
Painted in the bold shade of Freeborn Red, this Land Cruiser was made to stand out. Since 1982, it has been in the care of a single owner, whose passion for Land Cruisers rivals our own.
After purchasing this Land Cruiser in 1982, the original owner, drove nearly 500 miles to the port to pick up his newly-delivered FJ43. Now a man in his 90s, he sold his prized Land Cruiser directly to us, and was quick to show us how fast it started. With documentation dating back to the purchase date, this well-preserved Land Cruiser is an ideal restoration candidate for serious collectors and enthusiasts alike.
The Land Cruiser - Reborn
Now that this FJ43 is back at our climate-controlled warehouse, we’re getting ready to perform a full frame-off restoration. The entire vehicle will be completely stripped down and rebuilt to original factory specifications. We’ll replace the aftermarket hardtop with a custom soft top and the chassis and body panels will be sandblasted and repainted in Freeborn Red - the original color. New, original lights and badging will be mounted installed, and every nut and bolt will be painstakingly repainted and restored. Inside, the cabin will be outfitted with new upholstery and carpet, in the same color as the original.
About the FJ43
The Land Cruiser FJ43, was produced from 1960 to 1984. Like other models in the 40 series, it features the iconic white bezel-framed headlights and radiator grille, as well as the rectangular rear wheel arches. While aftermarket coach builders created multiple versions of the FJ43, this model was available mainly as a soft top, a 2-door station wagon (the FJ43V) or a hardtop. Gasoline-powered models produced prior to 1975 were equipped with the original F engine, while later models carried the 2F.
